I'm a fly on the wall....

Well i finally did it! I joined up with Flylady.net to help me get my house in order. The clutter and disorganization is just too much for me to take anymore! So, a friend of mine Rhonda, introduced me to her friend the Flylady. She gives you all these fun and easy little tasks to keep your house all in order which for an organizational type person such as myself (not from looking at my home could you tell that, but i am) it is a great solution to regain control. So I spent the last few days taking baby steps into her routine, and now am on day 5 and am doing quite well... I feel better already, even tho I have not incorporated any of her "ZONE" cleaning yet, I am supposed to declutter for a whole month, and then begin with her other deeper stuff. I am motivated and refreshed and ready to get started!!! Her motto is "you can do just about anything in 15 minutes" and bases her cleaning around this premise... We will see!

Check it out for yourself, you will be amazed at the difference you will feel in just a couple of days!

What a bargain!!

Ok so we have been "remodeling" around our house, basically just cosmetic painting and stuff, but finally get to my DD's room. Painted, moved back in, bedding DONE... now I have been searching for the perfect piece of furniture to use as a dresser/closet all in one jobbie thing. Her bedroom is what used to be a formal living room, and has no closet. So I have been searching for this perfect piece of furniture right, so i have exhausted all resources in town and am planning to go out of town tomorrow to look for something. My mom suggests that I check out this store here called Rooms ETC. It is a consignment store for used high end furniture. So since I have not ever been, I decide to chec it out today... lo and behold they are having a 50% off sale on children's furniture, and also found not 1 but 2 pieces for a grand total of $205 tax and all..... Not bad considering I was budgeting that at least for just 1 piece... so what do you think i will do with the surplus funds you may ask?! Well I am still going out of town tomorrow, with a girlfriend, and I plan to shop til I drop for some new pants (search is still going on for that...) and some new scrap supplies (like I need anymore, but i plan on buying it anyhow) and having a grand day all the while patting myself on the back for a fantastic find while bargain shopping!

waiting for the call...

Well this is the week, after all the hard work and waiting, the new Making Memories Masters for 2006 will be contacted. Now mind you I have no illusions about me actually getting a call, I mean I have seen the competition, and I believe there are far more talented people who entered, but i would love am HM or even one or two of my humble little layouts to be picked up for publication. I am sending great big mushy hugs and winner vibes to all who entered and hope to hear something soon, the waiting to find out is the worst. But in the meantime, I plan on creating a few more layouts to pass the time, because after all, scrapbooking is not just all about the contests or getting published, but about making beautiful memories for your family to enjoy for a lifetime.

stomach virus 101

Ok so my sweet DH after his peaceful weekend of gaming bliss, returns home to find me in the throes (no pun intended) of a raging stomach virus. He was so sweet taking over the childcare duties, and even going to Walmart (a place he detests) to buy me gatorade and soup. I am now on the path to healing, but lemme just tell you that was not fun, nor do I wish to repeat it anytime in the future. Now I am just praying that my children will be passed over...

a moment of peace...

ok so the DH has gone for a guy weekend with a buddy to St Louis to hook up with some other guy friends to play computer games (his equality to scrapbooking) and left me at home with the 3 kiddos (not a problem) and no vehicle (that is a problem), but i truly hope he has a great time and comes home relaxed and ready to get back into the groove of daily life. So I plan on letting the kids go to bed early, and stay up tonight and get some major scrapbooking done.
Hopefully my plan will work out, and I will have some quiet time tonight in the wee hours when the house is sleeping. I am gonna fix some dinner and then get the kids a bath and put in a long video so that hopefully by the end of it they will be in dreamland... a moment of peace...

In search of pants...

Well it has come to it at last, I must go jean shopping. But first I must get something off my chest. I know I don't have a right to complain, I mean I have been the same size since High School, and graduated more years ago than I can count on both hands. And yes I know I have inherited great genetics for a youthful and pretty slender body type, and yes, I know that I am hated by many for this... But (and that is what this is really all about) i have to go buy new jeans. I have had 3 children, and things have shifted a bit. I would venture to say that my lack of exercise and non restrictive diet has had just a little to do with this. I have recently discovered the actual medical cause for my sudden and drastic (for me) weight gain, Hypothyroidism. Yep hard to believe since both of my parents have this that I would be so lucky to inherit this too (but hey it could have been much worse).
BUTT i digress, again, I must go buy new jeans, and in shopping for these new pants, I must say that it is not as much fun as it used to be.
I have discovered that I have what shall I call it multi sizing disorder of the lower extremities. That is to say that my waist is one size (which by the way I would love to actually get to wear this size) and my legs are another size, but my BUTT is yet again another size. Not necessarily compatible with today's styles. I can find jeans to fit one or two areas but not all three, and hence my dillemma. I have decided to forgo jean shopping and live in elastic waisted exercise pants (altho I will not be exercising in them unless you count running after children as exercise)
So unless i can graduate to an all around larger size, or lose about 10 lbs off my lower half, then you will know me by the cute pink exercise pants with the racing stripes down the legs as i jog on over to Braum's for some ice cream!

Welll... here I am

For what it is worth, at the urging of a good friend, I have jumped on the blog bandwagon. I seriously cannot imagine what if anything in my humble little life would be of any interest to anyone besides those who know me and love all my little blondisms and personality quirks. But here goes...
A few things i need to clear up right off the bat...
1. I love to use (...) and it is something i cannot control so you must get used to it.
2. I am a majorly addicted scrapbooker, I own every sheet of pattern paper known to woman, and I am a hoarder of supplies... (there they are) and if you need supplies, you know who to ask.
3. I was a LSS owner for a year and a half, before our family decided that home was where i needed to be to raise our family, and you can refer to # 2 if you have any questions about anything I might have inherited from the LSS I was sole owner of.
4. I love chocolate, I mean come on it is really a given...
5. I have 3 beautiful kids, whom you may be lucky to see on my blog on a rotating basis, as they are entirely too cute to flood the system with all at once.
6. I am married to the most wonderful, supportive DH that a girl could wish for, but he is still a man, and I am sure you will hear all about that sometime or other.
7. I am a little bit of a smart aleck... but you get used to that soon enough too.

I guess that is all, except to say, that I have to thank Jules for getting me started on one more thing to be on the computer about!!!

So here I am this is me...
